比较级构成规则（-er / more）
两样东西比高矮胖瘦，形容词要"升级"成比较级。短单词直接加 -er:tall→taller、long→longer；较长的单词（三个音节及以上）前面加 more:more beautiful、more interesting。就像给形容词加了个"更"字。
本单元第一大考点，拼写规则要背熟:①一般加 er（older）；②以 e 结尾只加 r（nice→nicer、large→larger）；③重读闭音节双写末字母再加 er（big→bigger、thin→thinner、hot→hotter）；④辅音字母+y 变 y 为 i 加 er（heavy→heavier、happy→happier）。双写和变 y 是最高频错点。
