- 一般加 -er：tall → taller，old → older，strong → stronger
- 以 e 结尾加 -r：nice → nicer
- 重读闭音节双写末字母：big → bigger，thin → thinner
- 辅音字母 + y，变 y 为 i 加 -er：heavy → heavier，happy → happier
- 例句：I am taller than my friend. He is heavier than me.
