句型与语法
第一招：问"这些/那些是什么"
- What are these? （这些是什么？近处）— They're carrots.
- What are those? （那些是什么？远处）— They're horses.
- 回答统一用 They're...，注意是复数！
第二招：确认"是不是"——Are these / those...?
- Are these potatoes? — Yes, they are. / No, they aren't.
第三招：复数大变身（本单元重头戏）
- 一般情况加 s：carrot → carrots，cow → cows；
- o 结尾加 es：tomato → tomatoes，potato → potatoes；
- 单复数同形：sheep → sheep（一只是 sheep，一百只还是 sheep！）。

辨析对比
- 规规矩矩加 s：carrots / cows / hens / goats / horses；
- o 结尾加 es：tomatoes / potatoes——口诀"西红柿土豆是双胞胎，都要加 es"；
- 单复数同形：sheep → sheep——判断一只还是一群，要看前面的 this/these 和后面的动词：This sheep is white.（一只）/ These sheep are white.（一群）；
- 顺带分清一对形近词：sheep（绵羊，卷毛）和 goat（山羊，有胡子），考试爱放一起考。
文化角
在澳大利亚和新西兰，sheep（绵羊）比人还多！新西兰大约 500 万人口，绵羊却有 2500 万只，所以人们开玩笑说那里是"骑在羊背上的国家"。
